Growsian Agro coordinates Organic JAS certification within a documented export supply programme. For each order, the relevant product, operator, lot, evidence and destination requirements are aligned before dispatch.
Covered agricultural and processed foods generally cannot be marketed as organic in Japan without the Organic JAS mark. The certified operator, grading responsibility and logo application route must be established.

The Organic JAS scheme
Products represented as organic in Japan must comply with the Organic JAS (Japanese Agricultural Standard) scheme. For products from India, this means supply through a registered certification route, and — critically — the Organic JAS mark is mandatory for a product to be sold as organic in Japan.
The Organic JAS mark is mandatory
Unlike some markets, Japan requires the Organic JAS mark to be affixed for a product to be labelled and sold as organic. A product cannot be represented as organic in Japan on the strength of a foreign organic certificate alone; the JAS mark must be applied under the JAS system.
Registered certifier and grading
The Organic JAS mark is applied by an operator that is certified and authorised to grade under the JAS scheme by a registered certifying body. Grading responsibility — confirming the product meets the standard and is entitled to the mark — rests with the certified grader, not with the exporter or the importer.
Japanese importer and documentation
A Japanese importer is identified for the consignment, and the documentation must support the organic status and the entitlement to the JAS mark. Imported food is also subject to the Food Sanitation Act and general import requirements.
Labelling
Organic labelling in Japan must follow the JAS rules, including correct use of the Organic JAS mark and Japanese-language labelling. Approve artwork against the Japanese requirements before printing.
