Growsian Agro coordinates EU Organic certification within a documented export supply programme. For each order, the relevant product, operator, lot, evidence and destination requirements are aligned before dispatch.

Organic products imported into the European Union must follow the applicable EU organic import route. Each covered consignment requires a Certificate of Inspection and official controls under the EU framework.

The EU organic framework

Organic products placed on the EU market are governed by Regulation (EU) 2018/848 and its implementing rules. For imports from India, the producer or processor is certified by a control body recognised for the relevant scope, and the organic status of a consignment is confirmed through the EU import procedure rather than by the exporter alone.

Control body and certification

A recognised control body certifies the operator against the applicable EU requirements and issues the operator certificate. The scope of that certificate — the products, the activities and the validity — determines what can be shipped as EU organic. Confirm the control body and the certified scope before treating a product as eligible.

The Certificate of Inspection in TRACES NT

Each organic consignment entering the EU is accompanied by a Certificate of Inspection (CoI) issued and endorsed electronically in the EU’s TRACES NT system. The CoI links the specific consignment to the certified operator and the importing arrangements, and it is verified by the competent authorities at the border. A CoI is consignment-specific; it is not a substitute for the operator’s certificate, and the operator’s certificate is not a substitute for the CoI.

The EU importer and first consignee

An EU importer and first consignee must be identified for the consignment. They carry their own obligations under the regulation, including verifying that the CoI and certification are in order before the goods are released and placed on the market.

Use of the EU organic logo and organic claims on packaging is only permitted within the certified and legal scope, with the control-body code and origin statement shown as required. Approve artwork against the destination requirements before printing.
